How was your event this weekend?
Up here in Ontario, I attended the Caledon Horse Trials. I didn't place, but I did finish, and this was my first event with the mare I started part boarding last fall. I messed up xc, and didn't get my line after a 90 degree turn. I won't make that mistake again. But I'm very happy with my dressage. We were in second after that phase, and I squeed when I read I got an 8 on rider! It was a good learning weekend. Now to plan and save for my next event...
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
To see rider/horse results - search on the internet:
'USEA results lookup' and add the rider/horse name
All of the US results (includes Canadian riders) for last couple of years comes up. You can click on the horses name and the results for that horse will appear - sooo cool - you can see everything - compare the *** and **** between WEG candidates. It is very interesting. I just figured out that RF means retired because of a fall.....
I have to brag on my weekend. My superstar 9 yo OTTB, Win the War, and I did our first Intermediate this weekend at the Lost Hounds HT. It's a great move-up Intermediate, but it's not without it's challenges! My boy is a fabulous jumper, and he's really starting to "get" the dressage, though our score wasn't super this weekend. He got a 44.8 in dressage, which placed us 13th out of 22. He went on to jump clear with only 8 time penalties on a 4:45 course with 31 jumping efforts. He was super rideable, and every jump felt great. This moved us up to 9th.
After being one of only 4 double clear SJ rounds, we ended up 6th out of 22! I was THRILLED with him. He was very proud of himself as well. I am hoping that this is just the beginning of big things for him!
I had a great weekend with Boston at Bucks County. It was my first time competing at that venue and I'm really glad that I made the 7 hour haul up to do it. Very good dressage, awesome cross country (made me think that maybe, despite all of Boston's quirks and less than simple ways of doing things, that training is in our sites, and one rail in stadium at a triple that I stuffed him to. We finished in 6th, which isn't too shabby.

no events here.
I spent most of saturday weed eating the main ring.
I have a big bruise on my thigh from doing it. ouch.
Rolf was out doing all the jumps in the back field.
