Description: Shoelace has been my horse for the last 3 years, I am now going to college and I cannot take him. Shoelace is a wonderful level headed 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Shoelace has competed in novice and training level Eventing and done very well. He qualified for AEC during his first show season in 2009 and finished in 19th place, won Fox River Valley Horse Trials at novice with a dressage score of 26.5 in 2010. He then moved up to training, always having a clean cross country and ending on his dressage score by his 4th show. Shoelace is confirmed in all movements at First Level and schooling Second level movements like walk/canter and medium gaits. He is very level headed and nothing fazes him. He was selected to be a United States Pony Club dressage demonstration horse at the World Equestrian Games where he performed in a First level quadrille, and an 8 person drill team. Shoelace has been Fox Hunted in all fields successfully for 2 years, used in 4-H shows, and Pony Club ratings up to the B, competed in an NIHJA show. Shoelace is sadly for sale because I am going to college next year and cannot bring him.
Description:
Kahlua is a wonderfully conformed 4yr old dark bay, seal nosed OTTB. He is 15.2h, very nice short back and amazing warmblood movements especially his canter, in a nice compact package. He only ran 4 races, retired sound and was flexed sound by my vet. Only issue he ever had was he abscessed after previous owners took shoes off after track and turned him out on hard ground. So I treated them back in Sept 2010 when I got him and he hasn't had a problem since. I did have front shoes on him, but I think he definitely has potential to go barefoot, he is barefoot currently due to the mud sucking his shoes off and doing great! He was more broke than just track when I got him, now he has been with a trainer for almost 2 months (some light work last fall and now in training this spring). He can WTC respectably in both directions, stops and turns great, is figuring out moving off leg and how to go on the bit, also will go out alone down the road, not super confident but very willing. He has trotted poles and flower boxes even over tarp jumps and isnt phased, very brave and curious. I bought him for an eventing prospect, which I think he would be amazing for. Only reason I am selling is because Ive just decided I don't want to start from scratch on a baby, I'm too new to eventing and would prefer to just eventually get a ready made eventer. He really has a great mind, has a wonderful work ethic and really picks things up quickly. He is currently in training, price will go up if he starts going out to shows late this summer.
Description: 10 year old, 16.2 hand, Percheron cross. Jade is honestly that true all around horse. We have owned him since he was 2 and he was my husband's trail horse. He was then leased by a Pony Clubber for 3 years and took her through her C-3 rating. We recently got him back and he has now completed 2 recognized Novice events with dressage scores in the mid-30's and no cross country jump penalties. He is a very honest horse and tries his heart out for you. Will jump anything and has no issues with water, ditches, or banks. He has also foxhunted and loved it. 100% sound, perfect ground manners, loads easily, up to date on shots and worming and had his teeth done this spring as well.
Description: Eye-catching, sound, lovely mover with excellent conformation. Griffin has a vibrant personality and presence that is hard to ignore. Currently schooling extensions, lateral movements, flying changes, etc. Recently moved up to First Level dressage and has regularly received scores in the 60s and 70s. I have jumped him to 3'3", which he accomplishes with ease. Has completed several events at the Beginner Novice level and is experienced with x-country including ditches, banks, water. Quiet and confident on trails and gets along well with others (I've even ponied other horses with him). Has good ground manners, including bathing, clipping, farrier/vet, loading etc. Not for the timid rider, he appreciates a confident leader. Known arthritic changes in hocks (which is fairly common in horses of Griffin's experience and size). Goes 100% sound with proper maintenance/joint therapy. Life changes force sale. Price may be negotiable to the right home. A good match and an excellent home are my top priorities for this talented horse.
Description: 7 yr old 15.3 H Dutch Warmblood/Arab cross gelding. Fast, agile, and surefooted in the field. Can keep up with the Thoroughbreds for the first hour. Will leave them in the dust gasping for air and begging for mercy the rest of the day. People in the field call him the Energizer Bunny, always bright, cheery, and ready for more. Gotta love the Arab blood for the stamina. Of course you have to watch out for that Arab blood too-if you're not careful you could end up with something like Tamarillo or Mystere Du Val. Strong enough to carry my 200lbs for the entire day but so light to the aids and easy to control he has been regularly hunted by a very petite lady in only a snaffle with no martingale. Dutchie can handle terrain that would make a mountain goat cry. Throw him down a steep hill at a gallop-no problem. Do the "Man from Snowy River" scene. Impress your friends-terrify your family. He has even been known to swim a few strokes across a flooded mine pit at Coal Valley. I did, though, (long story) get him stuck in a tree once. Show jumping his first season (four shows so far) he has competed through 3'9'' and is almost always first or second and won a series championship in St Louis. Has jumped 4'6" verticals at home. Added bonuses-He is drop dead gorgeous, as uphill as the Matterhorn, has hooves like steel-hunts and shows barefoot, and has an extended trot to die for. Seriously-you need to see this trot. Dutchie is a real pleasure to be around- clips, bathes, loads and hauls easily and could be the most fun and enjoyable horse you'll ever own.
Description: Hobbit is a 9 yo, 14.2h Haflinger with Eventing experience at the Novice level. Took a young Pony Club kid through her C-1 rating and Beginner Novice events. Second level dressage. Very dependable and business-like under saddle. Has been used in some lesson programs. Video and more pictures upon request.
Congrats, good buddy, upon your aquisition of a new eventing partner, Jeanie Clarke. You ARE a lucky duck ! Instead of staying here with me freezing your a** off fox hunting this Winter, after a while in the Northeast at your new home, you get to, as all ducks should, "fly South" for the Winter with Jeanie to Ocala. When I dropped you off last night in Lexington to catch a ride back East with Peter Atkins and Henny, I was sad 'cause I love ya , buddy, and will miss you. But I'm thrilled you're going onward and upward to bigger and better things with Jeanie. Good luck, give her your best, and always go double clear !
Description: Awela Mai is a 15.3 Welsh Cob/TB mare by Brynarian Brenin, sire of many upper level event horses. She has competed through training level with the scope to do much more. She competed in the 2009 AEC's at training level and has several top placings. Emmy goes in a snaffle in all phases. She has lovely gaits, is bold across country and is a very tidy show jumper. She has an unbeatable work ethic and truly wants to please her rider. She spent the winter in professional training in Florida, where everyone loved her personality. She is sound and sane and would make an excellent young rider prospect or adult amateur looking for a competitive mount.
